The Process of Awakening

by Neseret on November 27, 2011

ChrysanthemumWe are in the midst of a momentous event in the evolution of human consciousness,

but they won’t be talking about it in the news tonight. On our planet, and perhaps beyond, consciousness is awakening from the dream of form. This does not mean all forms (the world) are going to dissolve, although quite a few almost certainly will. It means consciousness can now begin to create form without losing itself in it. It can remain conscious of itself, while it creates and experiences form. Why should it continue to create and experience form? For the enjoyment of it. How does consciousness do that? Through awakened humans who have learned the meaning of awakened doing.”

~ Eckhart Tolle from A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose ~

If I have to pick one author whose work has had the most profound influence in my life it would be Eckhart Tolle. This page is dedicated to sharing the insights and wisdom I’ve gained in my spiritual journey. I believer studying Eckhart’s work has been

a huge catalyst in my awakening to my life’s purpose.

Eckhart’s work has had a tremendous impact in my life. It has helped me access the peace and stillness within me. It has helped me get sharp clarity on my primary purpose in life as well as my outer purpose. It has shown me how to align those two purposes to live a meaningful life.

Before we go any further I want to clarify that when I talk about spirituality I am talking about it in the general sense. I respect other people’s personal beliefs and spiritual path.

I believe we’re all on a journey and can learn from each other.

Ultimately all of us are heading to the same place just in different directions. I value understanding, tolerance and respect when it comes to conversations about spirituality.

Now onward, forward and upward…

If you haven’t already read Eckhart Tolle’s books then I would suggest you get started with ‘The Power of Now’. If you’ve read Eckhart’s books already then I would suggest you read it again. His work is timeless.

You’ll learn something new each and every time.

That has been my experience. Please take time to share transformational books that have helped you in your journey. I’d love to learn about any books that have profoundly affected your life.

In this section I will be exploring the topic of how to awaken to your life’s purpose. I am going to share with you how to go from a place of pain and suffering to a place of peace and joy. I’ll share with you my own experience of coming from not feeling comfortable in my own skin to now being in a place where I’m not afraid to be my authentic self.

For many people when they hear the words ‘awakening to your purpose’ they may think about their career path or life’s work. That is fine. That is an aspect of life that is very important. Work is a big part of people’s life and it affects their happiness.

Many people want to know if they’re doing what they’re meant to be doing. Others are very dissatisfied with their jobs or careers and feel trapped. Many people want to make changes but are afraid to do so.

If you’re in these situations know that there is a way for you to make change and move forward.

Many of you are already have awakened to your life’s purpose and there are challenges that come along with doing so. We will discuss those challenges and how to overcome them. Sometimes this journey may feel lonely. However understand that you are never alone.

Nothing that ever happened in your life was a coincidence. Nothing was an accident. Wherever you are in your path know that ultimately things will work out for your highest good. When you’re going through difficult challenges and pain it may not feel that way, but it is true.

There is a reason and a purpose for why you’re here.

I love Eckhart’s books too!

I would also recommend “The Only Thing That Matters” by Neale Donald Walsch.

Keep up the good work!

/ A little somitheng to add to this. Some quotes that touched me, that I re-read many times over and that I would like to share.Eckhart Tolle- A New Earth- Awakening to Your Life’s PurposeThe physical need for food, water, shelter, clothing, and basic comforts could be easily met for all humans on the planet, were it not for the imbalance of resources created by the insane and rapacious need for more, the greed of the ego.How to be at peace now? By making peace with the present moment. The present moment is the field on which the game of life happens. It cannot happen anywhere else then the present moment, see what happens, what you can do or choose to do or rather what life does through you. There are three words that convey the secret of the art of living, the secret of all success and happiness: ONE WITH LIFE.Being one with life is being one with NOW. You then realize that you don’t live your life, but life lives you. Life is the dancer and you are the dance. To awaken within the dream is our purpose now. When we awake within the dream, the ego-created earth-drama comes to an end and a more benign and wondrous dream arises. This is the NEW EARTH.The joy of BEING, which is the only true happiness, cannot come to you through any form, possession, achievement, person or event- through anything that happens. That joy cannot come to you ever. It emanates from the formless dimension within you, from consciousness itself and thus is one with who you are. Some people feel more alive when they travel and visit unfamiliar places or foreign countries because at those times sense perception- experiencing takes up more of their consciousness than thinking. They become more present. You need to lose yourself to find yourself. Whenever you let go of one of these patterns, you de-emphasize who you are on the level of form and who you are beyond from emerges more fully.YOU BECOME LESS, SO YOU CAN BECOME MORE.The stronger the ego, the stronger the sense of separateness between people. The only actions that do not cause opposing reactions are those that are aimed at the GOOD OF ALL. They are inclusive, not exclusive. They join; they don’t separate. They are not for “my” country but for ALL of humanity, not for “my” religion but for the emergence of consciousness in ALL human beings, not for “my” species but for ALL sentient beings and ALL of nature. The modalities of awakened doing are acceptance, enjoyment and enthusiasm. When you make the present moment, instead of the past and future, the focal point of your life, your ability to enjoy what you do and with it the quality of your life increases dramatically. Joy is the dynamic aspect of being. In fact, there is nothing of significance that you can do by yourself. Sustained enthusiasm brings into existence a wave of creative energy and all you have to do is “ride the wave”.A new species is arising on the planet. It is arising NOW and YOU ARE IT!- CM
