The Journey of Healing

by Neseret on February 2, 2012

This one's for you!“We don’t receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.”

I believe this is true of the journey of healing as well. We don’t just receive healing. We don’t just all of a sudden wake up one day and notice our issues and problems in life have completely disappeared. It takes some effort and work on our part to change our lives.

If we want to change anything on the outer level of our life we need to be willing to embark on an inward journey. Lasting change begins from within. Each and every one of us have our own unique journey.  Our inward journey can only be taken by us and no one else.

That said, none of us have to go through this journey alone.

Many people are afraid of looking within and embarking on the journey of healing. They are afraid of what they will discover. They are afraid of finding something wrong. They’re afraid of making a mistake. They’re afraid of seeing their true self. They’re afraid of myriads of things but mostly they’re afraid of the implications of their findings.

If I don’t have my problems and issues in life and if I can move forward and become all that I can become what does that mean? It is a scary proposition. Who am I without my issues and problems? Who am I to be beautiful, successful, and magnificent?

You are a beautiful spiritual being having a human experience.

It is not so easy to be human though, is it? It is quiet smple but most of us make it complicated and struggle with it. Most of us are not taught to be good at it. We are often are born in to people, situations, and circumstances that are less than perfect. That is part of being human. Our job here is to learn to be the “imperfect” human beings that we are.

This means being comfortable in our own skin. It means learning to accept and love our “imperfect” selves. It means learning to overcome our challenges. It means learning to accept and love those other “imperfect” human beings we call our parents, brothers, sisters and the world at large.

Acceptance heals. Love heals. Compassion heals.

What else is there? Not a whole lot more. Although once we learn these things we can do a lot in the world to help those who are struggling. There is still so much conflict, suffering and pain in our world which is a reflection of the inner reality of countless people on our planet.

There is a lot of work to be done. The work of healing will be complete when peace reigns within the hearts and minds of every human being. You and I have a role to play in humanty’s  journey towards peace and harmony. Our journey of healing matters!

Our task and our challenge is to be willing to have HOPE and embrace the journey of healing and returning to our wholeness. We need to have HOPE that peace within and without is possible. We need to BELIEVE change is possible for us and for our world.

As Gandhi admonished we need to be the CHANGE we wish to see in the world.

What are your ideas and thoughts on the journey of healing? How important is healing to you? How important is becoming all that you can become? Do you believe you have a role in the creation of the issues and problems you are facing in  your life right now and we are facing on our planet today? If so do you believe you have a role to play in the creation of the solutions to help you and our world move forward?

Inspirational and true to life. The spiritual aspect is accurate and the points regarding personal transformation are expressed very meaningfully.

Walk the walk – talk the talk. If we want the world to be the kind of place we want it to be, I believe we must be the kind of person who treats others as we want to be treated, know what your ideal world would be – then go forward & create from the inside out – who that would embody. Just do it! It reads alright, but how & where does one start???
When I felt as if I truly was in hell here on earth, it entered my mind – this is hopeless!!
A split second later my thought was “as long as there is God there will ALWAYS be hope. Another thought was just keep putting one foot in front of the other & continue to move forward. I also tried to stay in the moment & take one moment @a time, that was all I was capable of handling @ that time. Also, along the way I learned to look for silver linings. You’d be amazed @ all the unlikely places they can be found. Example: When I was in a hell – planned by others – who were surposedly there to guide & comfort me – (this did NOT take place in any form or fashion). My sons had purchased me a hair brush & brought me other items I would be needing. Well, when I requested my things I was told there were none there for me. Which I learned later was just one more lie!!! So after days of not being able to comb my hair it came to me – they allowed a person to have a tooth brush – said I’d lost mine – begrudgingly given one. I’m sure I was charged for it. (Probably the most expensive tooth brush to date). .We’ll guess what people – toothbrushes make excellent combs. To my delight & (when in hell this feeling is seldomly felt), a person stopped & commented on how nice my hair looked. I was bubbling over with delight for a toothbrush had helped me feel human again. Well that’s my silver lining -Were there’s a will there’s a way, & lots of prayers going out!! I lived to tell you about it so to my way of thinking those were also being answered. Take Care & Hope is always a prayer away. K
